The present Board is:

Margi Biggs (Chairman) - has been involved in inbound tourism for 14 years running her own Southern Africa Destination Management Company. Margi served on Junior Chamber International as Vice President, Jaycee South Africa as National Secretary General, Cape Town Chamber of Commerce on Executive, and has worked as a lecturer in tourism, as a primary school teacher and as a Cordon Bleu cook.

Ian Douglas - is a successful manager of large projects, such as the SunWest Cape Metropole Casino Development Project and the Cape Town International Convention Centre. Ian is now in private practice and consulting to a range of organisations involved in large projects with a specific focus in the tourism industry. He holds a BA Degree (UCT) Legal; MA Degree (Oxon) and an MBA (UCT).

Annette Cockburn ? has 20 years of teaching experience and holds a BA, LTCL, Dip. Adult Ed., (UCT). Annette was the first Executive Director of The Homestead. She served as Chairperson of the Western Cape Street Children?s Forum (1990 ? 2000) and also on the Inter-ministerial Committee on Youth at Risk, charged with the transformation of the Child and Youth Care System in South Africa. She has published extensively on street children, presented numerous papers both nationally and internationally, and is a passionate Children?s Rights activist.

Nils Heckscher - started his 24 year long hotelier career as a pageboy. Nils worked in many positions in Berlin, Paris, London, Johannesburg and Cape Town. The Cape and its people is where his passion lies. He is the chairperson of Fedhasa Western Cape and runs a successful hotel in Sea Point.

Emmah Makatu - the owner of Zwinoni Lodge, situated in Milnerton Ridge. In 2004 she received an award from the then MEC for Tourism as the ?future of tourism?. She is also the managing director of ACBC (Pty) Ltd, a company that she founded after working for KPMG for three years. Emmah has experience in tax, accounting and audits of SMMES. In 1999, Emmah became an associate member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA).

Melanie Burke ? holds an MBA in Information Technology (Bond University), Diplomas in Diversity Management (Wits), Project Management and Marketing (UNISA). Melanie has enjoyed a successful career in the financial services industry, with a special focus on strategic management and product innovation. She owns her company MAB and Associates (Pty) Ltd, consulting in the SMME and ICT sectors.

Justine Wyatt - an admitted attorney who currently works as a corporate legal advisor in financial services. Justine has a Masters degree in Tax and is a certified financial planner, having qualified in a number of specialist areas of the financial services industry. She also holds a marketing diploma and has extensive experience in Public Relations and Marketing.
