Top Franschhoek restaurant Le Quartier leads the pack by raising nearly R50?000 in aid of StreetSmart South Africa, the non-profit organisation dedicated to the social upliftment of street children.?

Le Quartier Fran?ais was the top fund raiser out of a total of 63 StreetSmart affiliated restaurants in the Western Cape who add a voluntary R5 donation to the bill of every table in aid of this worthy cause.

The top five performing StreetSmart restaurants are Le Quartier Fran?ais (R49?281), Harveys Restaurant at Winchester Mansions (R45?210), The Table Bay Hotel?s The Atlantic (R36?580), Jardine (R36 102.50) and Nonna Lina (R33?340).
During 2010 StreetSmart SA raised a record amount of R1.3 million, which is R300 000 more than the previous year.
As a registered Public Benefit Organisation and Non Profit Organisation, StreetSmart, is committed to contributing every cent donated by diners towards its six beneficiaries, Learn to Live, Ons Plek, The Homestead, Youth Empowerment Action (YEA), Home from Home in Vrygrond, Cloetesville and Kayamandi.
StreetSmart is well established in Cape Town, Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Helderberg and raised just under R4 million since its inception in June 2005. It currently has 63 restaurants all contributing towards social development and educational upliftment projects for street children in their respective areas.
