At an event held at Fyndraai Restaurant, Solms Delta, on 13 December StreetSmart SA handed over a cheque to the value of R300 000 to Youth Empowerment Action (YEA), the nominated beneficiary and Franschhoek?s only NGO to work with street children. YEA will use their generous donation towards employing a social worker, auxiliary social worker, street workers, life skills facilitation and transport costs. The Helderberg has become the latest region to join StreetSmart SA, with five of their top restaurants already supporting this non-profit organisation dedicated to the social integration and upliftment of street children.Waterkloof Restaurant in Somerset West was the first restaurant in the Helderberg to become StreetSmart with Gecko's Bistro, Surfside Restaurant and Bistro and Harbourlights Restaurant all following suit. Leading Restaurants in the Winelands get StreetSmart StreetSmart SA, a non-profit organisation dedicated to the social integration and upliftment of street children, has expanded its horizons to include leading restaurants in the Stellenbosch and Paarl winelands, giving them the opportunity to plough back into the community. ??????? StreetSmart is well established in Cape Town and Franschhoek and has since December 2009 started in Stellenbosch with six restaurants on board. The new StreetSmart restaurants include Rust en Vrede, Wedgeview Country House & Spa, Overture, The Big Easy, Bodega and Jordan Wines restaurant.
