Margi Biggs is owner and Managing Director of Specialized Tours & Events, a 30-year-old, tourism logistics business operating throughout Southern Africa, offering services to discerning clients from around the World and locally.

Margi was responsible for the communications for the Cape Town/Cape Winelands Chapter of the Great Wine Capitals Global Network for 9 years. During this time, she judged the Best of Wine Tourism Awards 8 years in a row. Now being presented for the 7th year, Margi is the convenor of the annual Wine Tourism Conference.

She has served on Local and National Industry Association Boards and Community Organisations. In 2012, Margi was a Shoprite/Checkers South African Woman of the Year. In the past, Margi lectured for 6 years at Cape Town University of Technology, in Tourism, Studied Social Science at UCT, is a qualified Primary school Art teacher and qualified as a Cordon Bleu Chef.

In 2005, 18 years ago, Margi founded StreetSmart South Africa, an NGO/PBO concerned about fundraising for street children’s education, skills training and family reunification programmes.

Margi has walked 1060km on the Camino de Santiago in France and Spain.
