The TUI Care Foundation supports StreetSmart SA through its 100 Helping Hands initiative

StreetSmart is celebrating 16 years of making a difference in the lives of vulnerable and street children, along with our partners in hospitality, tourism and business.

Much needed financial support for StreetSmart was received from the TUI Care Foundation Corona Relief Fund to support the distribution of emergency funds in support of communities in holiday destinations impacted by the pandemic. The TUI Care Foundation builds on the global potential of tourism as a force for good by supporting and initiating partnerships and projects that create new opportunities for the young generation and contribute to thriving destinations all over the world.

“We applaud your inspiring work in support of vulnerable children in South Africa, especially during these challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. In extraordinary times like these, mitigating the effects of this crisis is of the utmost importance, particularly when it comes to protecting the most vulnerable people in our communities,” says Matthijs van der Klugt, Manager Operations at TUI Care Foundation.

The pandemic has severely impacted lives and livelihoods and the need for the services to support vulnerable children has increased dramatically.
