In our engagement with the ECD centres, we have had tremendous positive feedback regarding our training. In 2020 we facilitated training for the 14 centres, teaching them what is expected from the Department of Social Development’s standard operating procedures to open within the COVID reality. 

Through our support we were able to help eight of the 14 ECD centres with personal protective equipment and the necessary knowledge to enable them to open up again and serve the children and their communities. The children attending these ECD centres were either at home, or many on the streets in the community, with very little stimulation taking place. This was a very big concern for us, which is why we chose to jump in and help the centres open as soon as possible so that the children can once again be in a safe stimulating environment.
