StreetSmart SA has handed over R60,000 to organisations caring for Plettenberg Bay’s most vulnerable children. The handover took place at Nguni Restaurant, in Plettenberg Bay.
This grand effort is part of the total StreetSmart allocation of over R1 million for 2020 distributed nationally to 38 programmes working with children at risk.
The two Plettenberg Bay beneficiaries are Home from Home – Bitou Family Care and Masizame Project. The organisations will use the funds respectively for social work supervision and the salary of a family reunification worker.

Melanie Burke (StreetSmart SA) and Jonathan Gelderbloem (Kidstop)
StreetSmart SA, recently handed over R15,000 to an organisation caring for George’s most vulnerable children. The handover took place at 101 Meade Restaurant in George.
This grand effort is part of the total StreetSmart allocation of over R1 million for 2020 distributed nationally to 38 programmes working with children at risk.
The StreetSmart George beneficiary is Kidstop Projects, and the funds donated will be utilised towards a child and youth care worker salary.

Siphamandla Hala hala and Michael Smith (Sinethemba) and Melanie Burke (StreetSmart SA)
StreetSmart SA has handed over R95,000 to Sinethemba Projects in Knysna. The handover took place at Featherbed Cruise Café.
“Since the launch of StreetSmart in Knysna, Sinethemba has benefitted significantly from this community initiative. Thank you so much to the local committee, the participating StreetSmart restaurants and accommodation places, as well as the public who donate as little as R5. Your support helps many children stay off the streets and in school,” says Michael Smith, Director of Sinethemba, a youth development centre receiving funding towards the salary of the auxiliary social worker.

StreetSmart SA, an organisation dedicated to helping street children rebuild their lives R5 rand at a time through donations from restaurants, accommodation establishments and wine tasting venues in the Western Cape, Garden Route and Gauteng, has handed over R70,000 to The Kusasa Project in Franschhoek. The handover took place at Bistro BonBon.

NorSA was established in 2006, with the main focus of changing the destiny of families and children in need. The community based projects under the auspices of NorSA invest in the lives of children by empowering them with opportunities to develop to their full potential.
